The whole evening was built on my passion for the 1920’s and 1930’s. So much happened during this post war period. I am especially passionate of this era because of the great art movements and the circles of amazing personalities that came together during this period. Paris, London and New York City all had their own Lost Generation. From the Fitzgerald’s, Murphy’s and Hemingway’s in Paris, to the Sitwell’s, Cecil Beaton and Stephen Tenant in London. New York was blessed with the Vicious Circle or the Algonquin Round Table which helped create a whole new movement in the art, literary and performing art worlds. You can't argue with such geniuses as Dorothy Parker, Robert Benchley & the Kaufman’s. On this page you can find inspiration for your Fancy (Costume) Dress.
Click on the Choose A Character link above for a list of great personalities I have created, Be sure to check off your selection before someone steals your look.
If you would rather keep it simple, you can just wear a period look instead. Click on the Costume Resources link above for a list of online vendors and local stores to help you put together a look. Or if you just want to dress up in a great or fun costume you found, that perfect as well.
Do you need some visual stimulation on what direction you would like to go with, check out the movies and literature page for some help point you in the right direction.
Most importantly, have fun with your costume, I cannot wait to see what you come up with!
