I got my first glimpse of Dawn French back in the mid 90’s when I fell in love with "Absolutely Fabulous". I then fell for her a little more with her duo comedy show with Jennifer Saunders from the late 80’s, "French & Saunders". She’s Saucy, Sexy and Fucking Hilarious! Over the years I’ve followed her career and almost everything she touches turns to hilarious piece of work! Over the past 30+ years she and Jennifer Saunders have put together an amazing body of work. She first joined the cast of the "Young Ones" and met Saunders on the show "Girls on Top".

French wrote for AbFab for many years and create one of my all time favorite shows from the UK. "The Vicar of Dibley" is a show about French playing a female vicar who is assigned to small village and the show is a host to some really kooky characters. I love this show because it’s just one laugh after another and the characters mesh flawlessly together. The show ran for several years in a row and has come back from time to time with mini runs. Most recently the cast came back for 2013 UK Comic Relief series which charity that helps fight poverty around the world.

French and Saunders came back together again in 1999 with "Let Them Eat Cake". F&S in period costume at the Palace of Versailles. Saunders the grande dame with the Queen Marie’s ear in court and French as her loud and smart mouthed lady servant. The show was only 6 episodes long but it left you wanting to see more. Sadly the series came to end with the axing of you know who.

French was on fire in the early 2000’s with appearances and staring on several TV shows and Movies. In 2006 she hit gold again with "Jam and Jerusalem" (Clatterford in US) which ran for 3 seasons. French played Rosie the fun loving and heart of the town who lived with multiple personalities. While she was filming Jam, she starred in the early episodes of "Lark Rise of Candleford" and the "Psychoville". I haven’t had the time to start watching Psychoville or her most recent hit "Roger and Val Have Just Got In". Soon I hope.

Dawn has a new series out in the UK which starting airing episodes last month. "The Wrong Mans" is a new series staring actings Matthew Brayton & James Corden. Brayton was regular on one of Clem’s favorite UK shows, Spy! The show is exclusively on HULU. Check it out! So back to the lady at hand. I LOVE DAWN FRENCH......She truly is one of the most precious actors that the UK has offered the world. Funny as all hell and she can’t inhabit any role with grace and truth.
