ARTwise: Cuddly Rigor Mortis

Last weekend, Paley and I flew down to LA for the weekend. The primary reason to go down there was to attend the solo gallery show of Kristin Tercek (aka Cuddly Rigor Mortis). We’ve been collection her artwork for about 4 years now. Many of those pieces are up in the kids rooms. Paley loves her artwork and I figured it would be a wonderful opportunity to meet Kristin finally.

Kristin began her career, partnered with her husband and working with corporate clients in art design. Then she explored going solo by creating unique stuffed animals in the mid-2000’s. Starting a wave of unique creature stuffed animals. She grew tired of the sewing and picked up a paintbrush again. And her unique animals portraits took on a whole new life. Today her paintings are so unique and the detail she puts into them is incredible.

At her Gallery1988 show last weekend, Paley picked up this original piece, titled “Tex”. Get it! If not, it’s a wienie dog riding a wienie dog. Paley also got to chat with the artist, sadly some rude bloke decided to interrupt their conversation. Paley had a blast though! Thank you Kristin!
