Youtube Find: Love Actually Deleted Scene

Recently I posted birthday wishes for the amazingly talented France De La Tour. When I was searching for the perfect photo to post of her I ran across a video of a deleted scene from the holiday movie Love Actually. La Tour played the wife of the school head mistress and there little story arch built on La Tour’s cancer fight. While I understand the scene brought an even darker shadow on the overfill (spoiler! Liam Neason’s wife funeral opens the movie) this scene is both poetic and extremely natural. It would have been amazing to have seen this scene in the finished film.

La Tour was an extreme presence on stage in the 70’s and 80’s. The first time I saw her in a movie was in a Molly Ringwald film titled Strike It Rich. La Tour’s first feature film had the amazing Marty Feldman, which was hint that her career would blossom with great partners on stage and screen. One of the pinnacles of her career was in Tony Award winning role in History Boys which made its way to the big screen in 2006. Most of you might now La Tour more from her mainstream roles as the low seeking Violet in Vicious TV series orMadame Maxine in the Harry Potter films. Which oddly enough the later role is her second time as Giant, the first being Into The Woods film.
