HKfamily5 Wishing You A Happy Thanksgiving 2020
Smile, it improves your face value. One of my favorite lines Dolly Parton says in the movie Steel Magnolias. I’ve been smiling a lot this year. Trying to get through all of this just like the rest of you. Our family is so close to shoveling 2020 out of existence. Personally this has been a pretty crappy year. It started with a sucker punch of lies and deceit. Then world was plagued with a pandemic and a chain of unqualified voices squashing fact and reason. Through it all, there are still things to be thankful for, most importantly. Clem and I are lucky for our family and the friends who reached out during this time of great need byall. We feel the pain with the many we have lost this year.

Thankful for our health and that of family and friends.
Thankful we learned so much from distance learning in the Spring, we were able to fix it for the Fall.
Thankful for not getting a second dog! Although Auggie certainly has too many spurts of neediness.
Thankful we got to celebrate in person, Ama’s 80th birthday.
Thankful that lake life is now a great love for every HKfamily5 member.
Thankful for the close friends of the kids and who stayed connected with them.
Thankful for the amazing people who are guardians to our society, the nurses, doctors, EMT’s, grocery and restaurant works, elections workers, teacher and so much more.
Thankful for the scientists who are still a voice of reason and don’t feed into the false narrative.
Thankful for science in general.
Thankful for those who work so hard to keep any government working even when partisan affairs are working against them.
Thankful for a husband who put up with my manic shopping before March and admitted he was thankful I had done all that shopping when the shelves went bare in the stores.
Thankful that toilet paper, Grape Nut Flakes and paper towels have returned to the shelves. Although we are already seeing photos from friends up North showing empty shelves.
Thankful Biden and Harris won the election.
Thankful for Dolly Parton, Mandalorian, The Umbrella Academy & Stargirl for lifting up our spirits these very long months of quarantine.
Thankful for Anthony Fauci and the many people who stood up.
Thankful that we can start to see a light at the end of this pandemic with more and more Pharma companies sharing positive results on vaccines.
