HKfamily5 2024 Holiday Card

We opted for a location shoot for this years holiday card. Our photographer and friend, Rachel entertained us up in Tahoe and made it a family trip. Ama even joined the fun and got a photo for her holiday card. Rachel took us out to Tahoma and we did the shoot at the Hellmen-Ehrman Mansion which has been apart of the national park up there. I remember going out to the house as a kid with my family. Mostly in November when it’s cold as all heck. And the day we shot was no different. We opted to keep along the water. Rachel had done a photo along the back pond, which overlooked the lake. The early shots didn’t have the right light, so we moved out to the last to grab shots.

The mansion is honestly never been a gorgeous building, but we did utilize the boat house along the beach, near the pier. We even managed to grab a few shots with Mason with the kids. The kids picked out their outfits themselves. Both girls opting for pants, which was smart. Posing in dresses on the beach in cold winter, would have been insane. Overall the best part of the trip was just enjoying time up in Tahoe with our friends. The card design had me return to Minted because the previous company was just getting really out of control for the cost and I struggled the last two years to get the cards shipped before the xmas holiday. We will see what next year brings. With this recent election and the anti-DEI movement has me seeing a change coming in the wind.
