This year we are going rogue on the Holiday Portrait/Card. This new project requires more time and patience and this assistance more than just me, the family and a photographer. No, I am not going to spill the beans. With the time table moved up, it means I need to get things done earlier, rather than closer to the holidays. The kids are going to do a photo session with a favorite photographer/friend Rachel Capil in a couple of weeks. Then it’s off to the shhhhhhhhh to get to work.

With a moved up time table, instead of starting my holiday shopping in July I need to find some holiday outfits for the kids that they belong in Fall/Winter rather than summer. Sadly most retailers or brands don’t start launching their Fall lines till early August, just in time for back to school shopping. Here’s the low-down, I am fashion nut, I love fashion and I like to have the kids dressed up real nice when it comes to photo portraits. The photos are also used for the kids artist portraits in honor of their birthdays. The twins birthday is only 3 months away now. Yes, that’s another project being juggled at the moment.

Normally I have the kids clothes a good month or two out so I can find a good location to shoot the portraits. This year I have to do the shopping at the last minute because there is nothing out there will fit with a holiday look. Today I found this amazing dusty robins egg blue with bronze little patched of silk embroidery Bon Point, a french label. Sadly I don’t like spend over $200 for kids dress which might only get worn 3-4 times. You can’t wash silk and actually getting to the dry cleaners is a task in itself. So for now, I plugging away to find the perfect dress. The good news is the woman who will first need these photos, just informed me she’s moving in the next month out to the east coast. Which means I might be able to wait and shop after fall lines are released.
