Vote to SAVE PBS with a STAMP

In this weird world of political unrest, leave it to the United States Postal Service to give us a little plus. Even when the current Postmaster General is trying to make the USPS defunct, and throwing his old pals at FedEx more control of the shipping sector. Politics aside, the USPS is running an online vote to bring back a previous stamp. At first, I was excited about this little vote, not because I am philatelist (a person who collects stamps), but rather I have an annual tradition of buying holiday stamps for the many holiday cards we ship out every December. Gone are the days when I have my life in such order I can get our holiday cards out in November.

Louis Kahn USPS Stamp

Every year the post office release 4-5 new stamps to celebrate the holidays. During this time I also buy additional stamps to use throughout out the year. I do over purchase, not because I look at stamp as an investment, which is true considering I have stamps released 15 years ago, which are worth $0.34 more than what I paid for them. But I am not in it for the money. The photo shown above, is some of the collection I have. All of them spoke to me at the time and today. My favorite is the sheet of architecture gems, which includes the Exeter Library by Louis Kahn. I wish the post office would do more artist theme stamps. Lichtenstein I believe is the last art to be released. Along with Andrew Wyeth. There was a series of WPA posters I loved as well. Those are all gone. Would love for those to come back.

Right now you can vote online on the USPS site for your favorite stamp to bring back. The selection is just okay. I had several of these stamp at one point. From the Pixar Sheet of stamps, to one of the Peanuts series. I also had the Disney villains. What did I vote for, well I really liked the US Presidents series called Classics Forever. I also love the Eclipse stamps. In the end, I voted for one stamp I only have three stamps left. Mr. Rogers and King Friday. The winning stamp is being announced at the Boston 2026 World Expo in May 2026. I am not exactly sure why Boston having a World Expo, considering the official list of the expos don’t even list Boston? Have fun voting! Comment on the post, your choice!
